2022 Geoscience BC Scholarship Program Recipients Awarded

Vancouver, BC – July 19, 2022 – Geoscience BC announces the 2022 recipients of the scholarship program that provides a financial boost to ten post-graduate geoscience students working on projects to advance earth science research in British Columbia.

Each student receives a $5,000 scholarship to support them as they conduct their applied geoscience research. The scholarships are awarded annually to up to ten students who are registered and have started in a Masters (MSc) or Doctorate (PhD) program in earth science. This brings Geoscience BC’s total investment in students to $720,000 since the scholarship program’s inception in 2007.

“This year’s cohort of scholarship recipients and the research they are conducting helps British Columbia in the search and development of critical minerals and metals, decarbonization opportunities and cleaner energy development” said Geoscience BC President and CEO Gavin C. Dirom. “Congratulations to the 2022 Geoscience BC scholarship recipients. We are proud to support you.”
