2021 Geoscience BC Minerals and Energy & Water Research Summaries Now Available

Vancouver, BC – January 31, 2022 – Research papers summarizing 19 Geoscience BC minerals, energy and water research projects and scholarships in 2021 are now available in the Summary of Activities 2021: Minerals and Energy & Water volumes.

Summary of Activities 2021: Minerals (Geoscience BC Report 2022-01) contains nine technical papers that report on progress from ongoing Geoscience BC minerals research projects. The papers contribute to meeting two strategic objectives: identifying new natural resource opportunities; and advancing science and innovative geoscience technologies. They describe minerals research from across the province, including updates on a surficial exploration program as part of the Central Interior Copper-Gold Research series, ongoing research into extracting rare earth elements from southeastern British Columbia coals as well as seven research papers from Geoscience BC scholarship recipients.
