QUEST-Northwest Project Activities 2012

June 28, 2012 -Geoscience BC is pleased to announce plans for a new airborne magnetic survey in the QUEST-Northwest project area.

The QUEST-Northwest Project, originally launched in 2011, is designed to stimulate new mineral exploration activity in northwest British Columbia, and to enhance the success of existing exploration activities in the region. The 2011 program included two airborne magnetic surveys (Blocks 1 and 2 shown on map below), a regional geochemical program, and geological mapping. Results from the 2011 program components have now been released, and are available for download from www.geosciencebc.com/s/DataReleases.asp.

Geoscience BC is now planning to acquire airborne magnetic data near the community of Iskut, B.C. (shown on the map below as Block 3). The survey specifications will be similar to the 2011 surveys, flown on east-west lines spaced 250 m apart. Geoscience BC anticipates being able to release this new data set in early 2013. A request for proposals for the airborne magnetic survey work will be released through Geoscience BC's website shortly.
