New till geochemistry dataset for the Nadina River Map Area

April 26, 2010 -Geoscience BC is pleased to announce the release of Geoscience BC Report 2010-10 / BCGS Open File 2010-07 "Till Geochemistry of the Nadina River Map Area (093E/15), West-Central British Columbia" by T. Ferbey.

Report Description The silt plus clay-sized fraction of 79 basal till samples collected within the Nadina River map area (093E/15), located approximately 100 km southwest of Houston, BC, was analyzed for 37 elements by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), following an aqua regia digestion, and 35 elements by instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA). An additional 16 basal till samples were collected for analysis of heavy metal concentrates and gold grain counts. The spatial distribution of samples elevated in Cu, Mo, Pb, Zn, Ag, Ni, Hg, Au, As, Sb, Cr, and visible gold grains are the focus of this study. Data presented here highlight four areas of geochemical interest. Follow-up field work is required to assess the significance of the elevated element values used to identify these areas.
