New Group to Help Make Geoscience BC Water Research Crystal Clear
Vancouver, BC - October 23, 2018 -Geoscience BC has launched a new, temporary group to recommend priority areas for future water research in British Columbia.
Geoscience BC's Strategic Task Force on Water has been set up to recommend water research gaps beyond work already conducted by others, or already included in Geoscience BC's minerals and energy research areas.
Commenting on the group, Geoscience BC President and CEO Gavin C. Dirom said: "Geoscience BC added water as a research area to our Strategic Plan for 2018 to 2022 because we heard British Columbians say there is a real need for independent water research. The Strategic Task Force on Water brings together many perspectives to help us to focus on the scientific questions that Geoscience BC is well-suited to answer."
At a workshop on Friday, October 19th, members of the group discussed gaps in water research and identified priority areas for future Geoscience BC water-related research. The group will now work to produce a report and recommendations for presentation to Geoscience BC's Board of Directors in December 2018.
