Geoscience BC Welcomes Peter Proverbs to Energy Resources Technical Advisory Committee
Vancouver, BC – July 16, 2024 – Geoscience BC is welcoming a new volunteer to its Energy Resources Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), further boosting the Committee’s energy expertise.
Peter Proverbs (Tourmaline Oil Corp.) was approved as new member of the Energy Resources TAC by Geoscience BC’s Board of Directors on June 20, 2024.
Commenting on the news, Geoscience BC President and CEO, Gavin C. Dirom said: “It is always exciting to welcome a new passionate volunteer to a Technical Advisory Committee. Peter brings additional subject matter expertise, experience and skills that are important to Geoscience BC’s success. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Colin Frostad for his contributions to our Energy Resources Technical Advisory Committee.”
Peter Proverbs graduated from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, obtaining a BSc Hons. in Geology and Geography. His career spans over 35 years and includes a record of exploration and development success across the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, yielding significant discoveries and production additions from conventional clastic and carbonate reservoirs to unconventionals. His career began at Petro-Canada, followed by positions at Anderson Exploration, Devon Canada, and Huron Energy, gaining a reputation for thorough technical analysis and effective multi-disciplinary integration. Peter is currently the Chief Explorationist at Tourmaline Oil Corp. and is a member of the Canadian Energy Geoscience Association, American Association of Petroleum Geologists, SEPM Society for Sedimentary Geology and the International Association of Sedimentologists.
