Geoscience BC Releases Reports 2010-7 and 2010-9

April 6, 2010- Geoscience BC is pleased to announce the release of Geoscience BC Report 2010-7-1 "Geology of the Deer Park Map Sheet (NTS 82E/08)" and Geoscience BC Report 2010-9 "QUEST Project Compilation." Both products are now available for viewing at Geoscience BC's booth at the Kamloops Exploration Group conference.

Geoscience BC Report 2010-7-1 is a 1:50 000 scale geology map of the Deer Park sheet (NTS 82E/08) in southeast British Columbia. The map sheet is located along the eastern edge of the Penticton (082E) sheet, northwest of the Rossland Camp and northeast of the Greenwood Camp. The Franklin gold camp is located immediately north of the map sheet. Recent exploration activity has been mainly concentrated in the Franklin Camp and south into the Deer Park sheet, and in the southern part of the map sheet. Map geology and compilation work was done by Trygve Höy, and cartography was done by Wayne Jackaman.

This map is now available through Geoscience BC's website as a PDF file, and shapefiles will be released at a later date. For more information on the Deer Park mapping project, go to www.geosciencebc.com/s/2008-022.asp.

Geoscience BC Report 2010-9 "QUEST Project Compilation" is a one-stop product that uses an ArcReader/ArcMap interactive mapping application to view the QUEST Project data in central BC, as well as other public data such as MINFILE, regional geochemistry and geophysics, geology, digital elevation model, and topography. The application also allows easy access to information on other Geoscience BC projects located in central BC, including previously released reports and data (up to mid-2009).

All Geoscience BC data and reports included in this product were previously released as individual Geoscience BC Reports (no new data is included in this product).

Geoscience BC Report 2010-9 is available on a DVD (no charge) or USB drive ($20 charge) from Geoscience BC's office in downtown Vancouver, as well as from Geoscience BC's booth at the Kamloops Exploration Conference on April 6th and 7th.
