Geoscience BC Issues a Request for Proposals for a Horn River Basin Water Monitoring Study

January 19, 2011 -Geoscience BC, in conjunction with the Horn River Basin Producers Group, has issued a Request for Proposals for a Horn River Basin Water Monitoring Study.

The Horn River Basin is a world-class shale gas play in northeast British Columbia that will provide significant economic and employment benefits for British Columbians over the next several decades. This study, to be conducted over three years, will provide valuable water data that is detailed, unbiased and publicly available to support shale gas development. The information will be used by a wide range of stakeholders including provincial ministries and agencies, local governments, commercial water users, First Nations and the general public to make appropriate policies, regulation and permit decisions as well as to support public discussion on issues related to water use.

Proposals must be submitted by 12 pm (PST) on February 17, 2011.
