Geoscience BC at the Mineral Exploration Roundup 2015

January 26, 2015 - Geoscience BC is at AME BC's Mineral Exploration Roundup this week, from January 26th through 29th at the Vancouver Convention Centre East. Here are a few places where you can see what we're up to:

Poster Session
Monday, January 26th through Thursday, January 29th, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily

Geoscience BC will have several posters on display at Roundup 2015. This year, Geoscience BC proponents, associates and scholarship winners will exhibit 22 posters at the Roundup poster session, which will be held each day of the conference from January 26th to January 29th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in Meeting Rooms 8 and 15 at the Vancouver Convention Centre East.

These posters highlight some of Geoscience BC's ongoing work around the province, including:
  • The TREK Project (new geological, geochemical and geothermal programs),
  • Geoscience BC projects on Vancouver Island, in souheast BC and central BC, and
  • Updates from 2014 Geoscience BC Scholarship Winners.

The Geological Survey of Canada, BC Geological Survey and university students are also displaying posters. The list of Geoscience BC-affiliated posters will soon be available through our website at: www.geosciencebc.com/s/Posters.asp.


Technical Session: Public Geoscience: A Resource for You
Tuesday, January 27th from 8:30 am to 11:30 am

Listed below are the talks in this session that will provide updates on Geoscience BC's TREK and SEEK projects:
  • "Geological and Structural Architecture of the Nechako Plateau: TREK Project Area" - Dr. Craig Hart, MDRU
  • "Highlights of the SEEK Project - Stimulating Exploration in the East Kootenays" - Dr. Russell Hartlaub, BCIT
The session also features talks from the BC Geological Survey, the Yukon Geological Survey, and the Geological Survey of Canada. Geoscience BC Booth (1423) Wednesday, January 28th and Thursday, January 29th Come by our booth (1423) this Wednesday and Thursday to chat with Geoscience BC staff and learn about our current projects. We'll have copies of our Summary of Activities 2014 volume and 2014 Annual Report. Maps from previous Geoscience BC projects will be available for viewing in hard copy and digital formats.
