Geoscience BC and the Natural Gas Innovation Fund Pursue GHG Emissions Reductions and Boosting Economic Development

April 24, 2020 - Vancouver, British Columbia and Ottawa, Ontario - Geoscience BC and the Natural Gas Innovation Fund™ (NGIF) have announced an agreement that sets out how the two organizations will work together to co-invest in cleantech research that could deliver greenhouse gas emission reductions and boost economic development.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) includes details on how Geoscience BC and the NGIF have agreed to implement a collaborative process to jointly consider research opportunities that could benefit the natural gas sector in British Columbia and Canada more broadly. These two Canadian funding organizations have strong alignment of their goals and desired outcomes and on their rigorous, transparent due diligence processes. The MOU also allows for the confidential sharing of information.

Over the coming months, NGIF and Geoscience BC will be encouraging their networks to discuss and submit ideas for research projects to be considered for co-funding.
