Geoscience BC Scholarship Program 2023 Recipients Awarded
Vancouver, BC – July 11, 2023 – Geoscience BC announces the 2023 recipients of the Scholarship Program that provides a financial boost to ten post-graduate geoscience students working on projects to advance earth science research in British Columbia.
Each student receives a $5,000 scholarship to support them as they conduct their applied geoscience research in British Columbia. The scholarships are awarded annually to up to ten students who currently enrolled in a Masters (MSc) or Doctorate (PhD) program in earth science. This brings Geoscience BC Scholarship Program investment to $770,000 since the scholarship program’s inception in 2007.
For 2023, the Geoscience BC Scholarship Program is sponsored by Teck Resources Limited (Teck). Stuart McCracken, Vice President Exploration & Geoscience, Teck said: "Teck is pleased to support the next generation of bright geoscientists who will help drive society’s transition to a low carbon economy and position Canada as a global leader in responsible critical minerals production.”
Geoscience BC President & CEO Gavin C.
