Geoscience BC Initiates Search for Founding CEO

September 7, 2015 - Through your leadership experience and your entrepreneurial approach to business-building, you can make a genuine difference to the future of B.C.'s mining and oil and gas communities. At the helm of this new, not-for-profit organization, you can be a catalyst for attracting investment to the Province. In its role as an applied science, data and research centre, Geoscience BC is funding the collection, interpretation and delivery of geoscience data and expertise as well as supporting the advancement of exploration concepts. Your work will benefit all of the people of British Columbia with increased employment, investment and economic sustainability.

With $25 million secured from the provincial government, Geoscience BC will have the ability to fund projects and make an immediate impact. You will begin by constructing your team, adding a Chief Geoscientist/Geophysicist and project managers to the organization, and building a profile in the mining and oil and gas sectors. Show your constituents and your team the possibilities of an invigorated BC resource environment. Elicit innovative proposals from individuals and organizations who share the vision of Geoscience BC. Be a relentless promoter among all of the sectors' stakeholders to generate funding to grow the organization.

First and foremost a builder, you excel in strategic leadership and relationship development. Ideally, you know the resource exploration sector and have first hand knowledge of what it needs in order to thrive. Alternatively, you come from a role in a parallel organization or association whose focus is on supporting an industry. Whether you are from mining or oil and gas research, exploration, project management or consulting ... from academia... from government... or even an association... you have the leadership, brand building and business development expertise to make Geoscience BC a permanent part of British Columbia's expanding resource sector.

If you are motivated by the challenge of this career growth opportunity, please contact Craig Hemer, Kathryn Young or Margaret MacCallum at Ray and Berndtson's Vancouver office at (604) 685-0261 or send your resume in confidence to vancouver@rayberndtson.ca.
