Geoscience BC announces the appointment of Andrea Clifford as Project Coordinator and Communications Manager

May 6, 2013 - Geoscience BC is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrea Clifford as Project Coordinator and Communications Manager. Andrea will assume the responsibilities of Christa Sluggett as Project Coordinator and Communications Manager for Geoscience BC during a 15-month maternity leave contract. The role is responsible for project management, including the administration of project agreements and technical oversight, as well as assisting in identifying, designing and encouraging proposals on key projects that will attract new exploration and investment to BC. In addition, Andrea will play a key role in communicating and marketing GBC's results to clients and stakeholders, namely communities, First Nations and other interested members of the public.

Andrea graduated from the University of Alberta in 2003 with a B.Sc. in Geology. As a student, she worked for two summers as a field assistant for the Geological Survey of Canada and upon graduating started as a junior geologist with Apex Geoscience Ltd. in Edmonton, AB. At Apex, Andrea worked for several clients on various exploration projects in Ontario, Alberta and Nunavut performing heavy mineral sampling, ground geophysical surveys and data processing, core logging, drill supervision and program logistics through to program management.

In fall 2006, Andrea moved to Vancouver and started working with Bluestone Resources Inc. As project geologist and later as senior geologist, she managed remote diamond exploration programs from sampling through to drilling, budgeted, wrote assessment reports for numerous properties, managed land tenure and coordinated and applied for exploration permits with various regulatory bodies. While employed with Bluestone, Andrea also gained experience in copper porphyry exploration and worked on reporting and permitting with sister companies Kivalliq Energy Corp. and West Melville Metals Inc.
