Q. Could you please provide the UTMs or lat/longs for the survey area?
A. The spreadsheets for the Helicopter TEM lines proposed in zone 9 and zone 10 are available for download below. These spreadsheets contain the line totals for all the proposed blocks in the QUEST-West project area. The RFP issued now is for areas 1 and 1a. We may elect to increase the survey size to include areas 2 and 3 if we get funding to do so.
Please note that the lines are flown UTM East-West in each zone, with a small turn in the lines at the UTM zone boundary between zone 9 and 10 to adjust for the change in line direction.
The lines follow UTM northings divisible by 4000. This follows the format of the line layout for the Helicopter EM lines flown last year in the QUEST project area adjoining to the west. There is currently an airborne gravity survey being flown on two kilometer line spacing in the same area for Geoscience BC and we wish to have the Helicopter TEM lines flown along alternate airborne gravity flight lines.
Q. Could you please provide more comprehensive geological information so that we can ensure the most appropriate geophysical parameters?
A. The best source of geological maps is the BC Geological Survey's online map server.
The data from the VTEM survey flown last year in the QUEST area (immediately adjoining the QUEST-West area) is available for download at www.geosciencebc.com. As mentioned in the RFP, we expect the drift cover to be no deeper in the QUEST-West area than the QUEST area. Many areas of the solid geology map are not mapped as drift covered. There are more volcanics outcropping, and the western part of the survey area is more mountainous.
Sergio Espinosa (Terrane Minerals) presented the Mt. Milligan Case history at the KEGS conference in Kamloops this year. This presentation illustrates the VTEM response at Mt Milligan and the interaction of the overburden and the bedrock.
Q. In Appendix E, section 2.3 it says firm price per line-km but nothing about mobilization or possible standby days. Can I assume that all of this is supposed to be included in the price per km?
A. Please quote a firm price per line kilometer. You can separate and quote separately a firm price to mobilize & demobilize as a separate line item. Standby should be included in the price per kilometer cost.
