Geoscience BC is pleased to announce our Spring 2006 REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS: Geoscience to Stimulate Exploration Activity in British Columbia: Focus on the Mineral and Oil and Gas Potential of Central B.C.|
In support of our mandate to undertake geoscience to attract exploration investment to BC, Geoscience BC is pleased to issue this request for applied proposals from industry, government, academia, communities, or not-for profit organizations to undertake geoscience research related to mineral and oil and gas exploration in British Columbia. Priorities for the Spring 2006 Request for Proposals (RFP)
While this call is open to proposals for geoscience work in all areas of British Columbia, in response to the Mountain Pine Beetle (MPB) infestation affecting central British Columbia, Geoscience BC is placing a priority this year on the following geoscience activities:
- assessment of the oil and gas potential of the Nechako Basin in the Interior Plateau region of south-central BC
- enhanced geological understanding of mineral potential of central BC
- geochemical and geophysical exploration technology development to overcome the challenge of volcanic and glacial cover in central BC
The area of most intense MPB infestation presently includes NTS map sheet numbers: 92 I, O, P; 93 A, west half; 93 B, C, F, G, J, K, L; and 93 N, O south half. Geoscience BC is placing a priority on geoscience projects to be undertaken within these map areas.
