Geoscience BC Releases QUEST Project Airborne Gravity Dataset

Geoscience BC is pleased to release Geoscience BC Report 2008-8, which contains the final dataset for the QUEST airborne gravity survey. The Northern Development Initiative Trust, through their Pine Beetle Recovery program, co-funded the collection of airborne gravity data in the QUEST Project area with Geoscience BC.

Geoscience BC Report 2008-8 includes the airborne gravity digital data, grids and final technical report for the project, along with images in both PDF and TIF formats. This airborne gravity survey was undertaken by Sander Geophysics Ltd., and covers the same footprint as the QUEST VTEM survey, which was released in January 2008. Over 27,000 line kilometers of airborne gravity data, with a 2 km line spacing, was collected in the QUEST Project area.

To download Geoscience BC Report 2008-8, please go to www.geosciencebc.com/s/DataReleases.asp and click on the "Download QUEST Data" button. Images of the data will also be available through the BC Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources MapPlace website: www.mapplace.ca.

Preliminary images of the airborne gravity data were released on April 1, 2008, as Geoscience BC Report 2008-6. All previously released QUEST data, reports and maps are available for download from www.geosciencebc.com/s/DataReleases.asp.

For more information on the QUEST project, please refer to the Geoscience BC QUEST Project page at www.geosciencebc.com/s/Quest.asp.
