Geoscience BC Appoints New Directors to the Board

Vancouver, BC -- April 30, 2007 -- Geoscience BC is pleased to announce the appointment of the following new Directors to its Board: David Caulfield. President and CEO of Rimfire Minerals Corporation; Tony Fogarassy, energy and natural resources lawyer with the Vancouver law firm Clark Wilson LLP; Byng Giraud, Senior Director of Policy and Communications with the Mining Association of BC; and Dan Miller, Senior Counsel with NATIONAL Public Relations, and former Premier of British Columbia.

These new appointees join the following continuing Directors: John Thompson, Vice President Technology at Teck Cominco Limited and Chair of the Board; James D. Gray, Partner of Vancouver-based DeVisser Gray Chartered Accountants LLP; David James, Senior Consultant to the oil & gas industry and formerly Manager of Geology with Anadarko Canada; Harlan Meade, President and CEO, Yukon Zinc Corp. and Pacifica Resources Ltd.; David Strong, founder of University Canada West and former President of the University of Victoria; and 'Lyn Anglin, President and CEO of Geoscience BC.

Michael McPhie, President of the Mining Association of BC, resigned from the Board to pursue other commitments. Geoscience BC extends its sincere thanks for his service and contributions to the organization during its critical first years.
