Geoscience BC is pleased to announce the appointment of Garth Kirkham as Vice President, Industry Liaison, and Stephen Williams as Information Specialist.

October 29, 2007 -Geoscience BC is pleased to announce two new members of our team.

Mr. Garth Kirkham of Kirkham Geoscience Ltd. has joined Geoscience BC as Vice President, Industry Liaison.

Garth obtained a Bachelor's degree in Science from the University of Alberta, with majors in Geophysics, Geology and Mathematics. He is a Professional Geophysicist (P.Geoph.) with the Association of Professional Geologists, Geophysicists and Engineers of Alberta (APEGGA), Northwest Territories and Nunavut Association of Engineers, Geologist and Geophysicists (NAPEGG) and a Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) with the Association of Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (APEGBC).

Garth has 25 years experience (6 years oil and gas, 19 years mining and environmental) supplying high-technology services and related products to the mining, oil & gas, geotechnical and environmental industries. He is experienced in a wide range of state-of-the-art integrated, 3D volumetric modeling technologies and supporting systems. He has extensive consulting, project management and program implementation experience, along with extensive field and site experience through field projects and operating mine site evaluation studies.

Garth's role at Geoscience BC includes acting as liaison with industry regarding proposed programs, partnerships and joint opportunities, assisting with proposal generation; providing oversight of contractors retained to perform services for GBC; assisting the Technical Advisory Committee with selection of projects and monitoring of existing projects along with advising on technical, marketing and logistical aspects of various projects.

Garth stated "I am honored to join a respected and dedicated team focused on promoting investment in resource exploration and sustainable development in British Columbia".

Mr. Stephen Williams has joined Geoscience BC as Information Specialist on a six month work exchange from the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC).

Stephen obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of British Columbia in 1984 and his Advanced Diploma in Technology (Geographical Information Systems) from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1991. He started work with the GSC in the Vancouver office in 1993 and over the years has been involved in several multi-disciplinary geoscience projects. His expertise includes cartography, database design and implementation, application development, and data integration.

Stephen has a reputation for excellent and innovative work particularly in the areas of digital databases, compilations and cartography.

Stephen's role at Geoscience BC will be to provide GIS expertise. particularly to the QUEST project.

Stephen stated "I am looking forward to the challenge of implementing a spatial information system, as well as working with the knowledgeable and dynamic GBC team".
