Invitation to Geoscience Workshops

March 2, 2016 - In collaboration with the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources (the BC Geological Survey Branch and the Resource Development Branch) and Natural Resources Canada (Geological Survey of Canada) Geoscience BC will be hosting two informal workshops to discuss exploration technology needs to address the geochemical and geophysical challenges of exploration through volcanic and glacial cover in central BC. These discussions will help guide Geoscience BC in the 2006 proposal review process.

March 14, 2006: Exploration Geochemistry for Mineral Exploration

March 15, 2006: Exploration Geophysics for Oil and Gas and Mineral Exploration

Both workshops will include introductions by government staff on the state of public geoscience databases. In addition, the March 15 workshop will include a presentation by Ministry staff on "Nechako Basin - Oil and Gas Potential, Opportunities and Challenges" and an introduction to the "Interior Basins Oil and Gas Development Strategy"

Space is limited, so if you are interested in attending one or both workshops, please email Lauren Elliott at elliott@geosciencebc.com
or call 604-662-4147 as soon as possible to reserve a space.

The workshops will be held in Room 2200 at SFU's Harbour Centre on West Hastings in downtown Vancouver. The workshops are scheduled for 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Lunch will be provided.
